DAYTONA BEACH — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Charles Ivy, 34, was thrown in the slammer after he murdered his baby mama, 30-year-old Den’Jah Moore, because she moved on with her life. The femicide transpired around midnight on November 21, 2023 at the Countryside Apartments in Daytona Beach, Florida. According to multiple reports, Den’Jah and Charles have two children together. But they had been sundered for a while. Den’Jah moved on and had a baby by another man. Charles didn’t care. He sought to rekindle their relationship. While visiting his children, Charles asked Den’Jah to take him back. When she said “no,” the simp pulled out a knife and stabbed her 100 times. Then, Charles set Den’Jah’s apartment on fire before fleeing — leaving her and the children inside. He didn’t give a damn about his own kids.
Firefighters responded to extinguish the inferno. Den’Jah and her 10-month-old baby boy died. Her two oldest children (ages 4 and 5), whom she shares with Charles, remain hospitalized in critical condition. Charles was arrested and charged with two counts of premeditated first-degree murder, two counts of attempted felony murder and one count of arson.
Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young unloaded on Charles during his press conference.
“With what we witnessed throughout this investigation, the defendant in this incident deserves a special place in the gates of hell for what he did to this mother and these children,” he said. “Again, I have never witnessed anything this horrific in my entire career.”
Den’Jah was a criminal justice graduate of Bethune-Cookman University.
She was also a hair-stylist.
Charles wasn’t always a Pookie.
He served in the U.S. Army prior to starting his own landscaping business.
Social media reaction was fierce.
