GLENNVILLE — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Prison employees with the Georgia Department of Corrections were left in bewilderment after inmate Jaydrekus Hart murdered Aureon Grace before blowing his own brains out. The murder-suicide transpired on June 16, 2024 in the cafeteria of Smith State Prison in Glennville, Georgia. According to police reports, Aureon — a kitchen worker in the maximum security penitentiary — copulated with Jaydrekus despite the fact he was serving 20 years for voluntary manslaughter. Yep, she gave up the derrière in a janitor’s closet. But, all hell broke loose when Aureon decided she no longer wanted Jaydrekus to be her prison bae and dumped him. Feeling jilted, Jaydrekus had another employee sneak him a gun. As he was being served in line, Jaydrekus pulled out the smuggled weapon and opened fire — striking Aureon multiple times before killing himself. Scuttlebutt has it Jaydrekus accused her of bangin’ another jailbird.
Aureon’s mom, Deshonda Hagins, is pissed. She blamed the prison for failing to protect her daughter. It’s her assertion the Department of Corrections should place more cynosure on how the gun got into the facility in the first place. When a reporter mentioned Aureon’s dalliance with Jaydrekus, Deshonda replied, “What does that have to do with having a gun to kill my child?”
Social media reaction was wild.
One commenter wrote, “Dating someone named ‘Jaydrekus’ isn’t a wise move in itself, let alone an inmate named ‘Jaydrekus.'”
Another chimed in with, “So wait… she was dating him with a release date of 2044?”
A third person added, “That’s why women shouldn’t have these types of jobs. They f*ck inmates often.”
Aureon, a 24-year-old single mom of two, leaves behind a one-year-old son and four-year-old daughter.
She was saving money to attend nursing school.

In 1985, I was offered a job at a prison. My mom advised me not to take it. She knew that I was young, sweet and very tender hearted.
I took her advice and instead took the government job.
