Ice Cube said ‘Last Friday’ coming to movie theaters

LOS ANGELES — “You got knocked the f*ck out!” Only took 22 years but it’s finally gonna happen. During a recent appearance on Flavor Flav’s SiriusXM show (Flavor of the Week), Ice Cube announced “Last Friday” is in the works. Yessir. It’ll be the fourth and final installment in the popular film series. The last movie, “Friday After Next,” came out in 2002. “We’re working on it,” Cube told Flavor Flav. “We finally got some traction with Warner Bros. They have new leadership. My man Mike DeLuca — who used to be at New Line [Cinema] when I first started, when I first did the first Friday and Players Club and All About the Benjamins — Mike DeLuca was there. So, now he’s running Warner Bros. And him and my man Michael Gruber was like, ‘Yo, what the f*ck is going on with Friday? Man, let’s get this sh*t back online.’” Chris Tucker, a born-again Christian who’s against smoking marijuana and using profanity, said he’s open to reprising his weed-puffin’ role of Smokey.
But he lambasted Warner Bros. for taking their sweet time.
“It’s studios, and they gotta want to do it,” Chris, 52, told Big Tigger during a chinwag on Atlanta’s V-103 radio station.
“And then it’s producers and all that stuff. It’s a lot that goes with it.”
Cube, 55, shared a homogeneous sentiment. Since the first “Friday” was released in 1995, three of its stars have died. There will be no Mr. Jones, no Deebo, and no Ezal. “You know, I was a little hot because they had took so long,” Cube admitted to Flav. “John Witherspoon passed away, [Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister Jr.] passed away, [Anthony ‘AJ’ Johnson] passed away. I’m like, ‘Man, we keep losing people, and y’all keep dicking around, not doing the movie the way it needed to be done.’”
Social media reaction was pessimistic.
One commenter wrote, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
Another chimed in with, “Won’t be the same without Tiny Lister Jr, John Witherspoon and AJ Johnson.”
A third viewer added, “They waited too long. 65% of the cast is dead💀.”
My thing is, what’s the plot?
You can’t have Craig and Smokey unemployed while sedentary on a porch, puffin’ marijuana all day in their 50s.

I’ve been waiting on this movie since 2010. I was in middle school back then. I’m working on my bachelor’s degree right now, and here we go again. This is what, the third time now, it’s being developed?! 2 scripts rejected, is the recent one being reworked or are we getting a whole new script, where we gotta wait a whole year and a half for it to come out? This would’ve been Friday 6 if those two scripts were shot.
In fact, they should have did it around 2005 or whatever, and we would have been at the 14th movie called Freaky Friday After The 13th by now. 2007 was the last time we had Friday content which was the animated series on MTV, if that counts. If we count the BIG 3 commercial in 2018, maybe.
Realistically speaking, I feel like the only returning people would be Ice Cube, Mike Epps, Katt Williams, Don DC Curry, Terry Crews, Rickey Smiley, Michael Blackson, Jacob Vargas, Anna Maria Horsford, Clifton Powell.
Hopefully Nia Long, Kym Whitley, Regina King, Lisa Rodriguez, KD Aubert, Maz Jobrani, Bebe Drake, Sommore, Faizon Love, Ronn Riser, Amy Hill, and Khleo Thomas come back.

People holding on to nostalgia at this point around seeing another Friday. The time for it is dead and gone now based on all the characters that cube mentioned done died. It just won’t be the same at this point.
