DETROIT — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Virgil Brown, 22, was thrown in the slammer after he shot and killed his baby mama, 19-year-old Jevon Miller, because she broke up with him. The femicide transpired around 6:45 a.m. on May 30, 2024 outside Jevon’s home in Detroit, Michigan. According to multiple reports, Jevon — a victim of domestic violence — told Virgil she was sick and tired of being his punching bag and she wanted out of the relationship. Amid trepidation of becoming homeless, Virgil pulled out a handgun and opened fire — striking Jevon in the head. Then he shot their 3-year-old son, Christian, in the neck before fleeing. Yep, this fool shot his own kid. Smh. Jevon was pronounced dead at the scene. Christian was rushed to the hospital where he remains in critical condition. Virgil turned himself in days later. He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder, second-degree child abuse, carrying a concealed weapon, three counts of felony firearm possession, and a partridge in a pear tree. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy is handling the case.
Social media reaction was wild. One commenter wrote, “Young Ladies!!! NEVER EVER move a man into your home. If he can’t house himself independently, he’s not husband material. And not every man who will have sex with you actually likes you.” Another chimed in with, “You have to be a heartless mofo to shoot your own child, smfh…” A third person added, “A day of awakening is coming when men won’t be chosen at all. So many young women are becoming gay, starting in middle school and up. Most of them don’t even want to be with a man, don’t want marriage, or children” to which another reader replied, “Y’all pick these fools and then wanna blame all men. Y’all trash.”
Jevon was a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Virgil is a murderous bum with no goals or ambition.
