MEMPHIS — The adventures of Pookiesha & Ray Ray continue. Monica Williams, 45, is facing a lifetime behind bars after she murdered 48-year-old Anitra West over a piece of greasy fried chicken. You can’t make this stuff up. The homicide transpired on July 8, 2024 in Memphis, Tennessee. According to police reports, Anitra was busy working drive-thru at Church’s Chicken when Monica pulled up to complain about her order. She was reportedly shorted a wing and wanted a refund. The ladies proceeded to cuss each other out until Monica sped off in disgust. A few minutes later, Anitra took a break and went outside to get some fresh air. That’s when Monica walked up to her, pulled out a gun, and opened fire — striking Anitra in the head. “Bitch, I’ll kill you!” is what she said prior to pulling the trigger. Anitra was transported to the hospital where she died.
Yep, Anitra lost her life over a goddamn chicken wing. Her ex-husband, Loranzo West, will now take sole custody of their 12-year-old daughter. He and Anitra got divorced in 2021 after 16 years of holy matrimony. They were high school sweethearts. “I’m a better man because of her,” Loranzo told reporters. “That’s what will be missed the most, because everywhere she went, she impacted everybody.” Monica fled the scene. But she’s now in police custody. She’s charged with first-degree murder.
Sadly, this ain’t the first time Monica committed a violent crime.
In 2009, she stabbed her boyfriend’s baby mama then beat her ass with a tree branch.
Monica was subsequently fired from FedEx, followed by a 3-year stay in prison.
Social media reaction was vicious.
One commenter wrote, “Over chicken? Really? Only in the ghetto.”
Another chimed in with, “Not surprised. I’ve seen fast food exchanges turn deadly between employees and customers. All because people think sh*t a game.”
A third person added, “To take a human life over fast food is diabolical as f*ck!”
