CHARLOTTE — Visitor or intruder? That’s the question. Stephanie Alexander, 51, was thrown in the slammer after she shot and killed 25-year-old Tyra Crosby for sleeping with her husband. The sanguinary ordeal transpired around 5 a.m. on July 18, 2023 at Stephanie’s home in Charlotte, North Carolina. According to multiple reports, Tyra met Stephanie’s husband at a nightclub and she went to his home for sex — not knowing he was married. Stephanie returned home unexpectedly, saw Tyra in bed with her husband, and a fracas broke out. As the confrontation intensified, Stephanie pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Tyra multiple times. Then she called 911 and claimed she smoked an intruder. “Charlotte 911 do you need police, fire or Medic?” the operator said. “I need police, somebody just been shot in my house,” Stephanie replied.
Even though she called police, Stephanie was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter. She bonded out 6 hours later. However, new evidence surfaced. Unbeknownst to Stephanie… Tyra’s mom, Tanya Hoskins, received a call from her daughter during the altercation and it captured her final moments. “She was invited to that home,” Tanya told reporters. “I know my daughter wouldn’t have went there knowing it was a married couple or that it was a wife’s home. She was lured there by the man that was old enough to be her father.”
Tanya gave investigators a lengthy recording that proves Tyra suffered a prolonged beating prior to getting shot.
“It’s about an 8 minute long message of her being beat, tortured,” she said.
“You can also hear them telling her that they were gonna kill her.”
Prosecutors heard the recording and upgraded the charge to murder.
Social media reaction was venomous.
One commenter wrote, “Sleep with your own damn man! Stop going home with people you don’t know. Do background checks first.”
Another chimed in with, “Makes zero sense. Now the man is definitely free to do as he pleases. Probably has another side chick. So… you took the girl’s life, for what??? She must’ve snapped. Couldn’t have been thinking rationally.”
A third person added, “Bullsh*t! As soon as she walked in that house, she KNEW a woman lived there.”

He didn’t care at all about his wife for him to not only be cheating but to go as far as to bring that young woman to where he and his wife lived. He took advantage of that free-spirited young lady. She didn’t deserve what happened to her at all. And even though the wife was wrong for taking her life, she was a victim too… a victim of a narcissistic husband.

Side chick spoke death on herself and she was a smart mouth. The wife looks crazy so this was all combustible. They both were too invested into a black man. Don’t go up in people’s homes where you don’t know what’s going on. If a man invites me to his home I don’t go the first time. I’ll have to get to know him before he can come to my home or I’ll go to his home because I know men usually got somebody living there with him or some girlfriend coming in and out. Do not trust any of these men out here. These wives are very desperate to hold on to their dusty men.

Did Tyra feel she had to fight her way out of that house after being caught? Did she get the best of the wife during the fight and that’s why the wife shot her. Did the husband try to stop the fight or did he just run out the house and leave Tyra to fin for herself. The truth will come out.
