HOFFMAN — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Residents of Hoffman, North Carolina are in mourning after Moses Chisholmst, 46, shot and killed his wife, 38-year-old Kanisha Nealy, before blowing his own brains out. The murder-suicide transpired at their residence on August 4, 2024. According to police reports, Moses — a convicted felon — met Kanisha via Facebook while he was serving 12 years in the penitentiary. “He told me I threatened him to do right!” Kanisha shared. “He hit me on Facebook like let me take you out knowing dang on well he was incarcerated.” Initially, their relationship existed through phone calls and prison visits. They got hitched while Moses was locked up. Then, as soon as he got out, Kanisha moved him into her home so he could help raise her two young daughters. The marriage went downhill from there.
Within two years, Moses started beating Kanisha’s ass. Then shortly after the accouchement of their first child together, Kanisha — a victim of domestic violence — told Moses she was sick and tired of being his punching bag and she wanted a divorce. Rather than respect her wishes, Moses pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Kanisha multiple times before turning the weapon on himself. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Social media reaction was vicious.
One commenter wrote, “Ma’am. You ran to your death! This is why a lot of prisons tell you not to f*ck around with inmates. They know how to con and sweet talk!”
Another chimed in with, “So what’s next black women? Picking them up from the crime scene???? Smh. Why on earth would you entertain, marry and get pregnant by a felon??? What’s going on with women today????”
A third person added, “These comments are stupid and judgy as f*ck. I been with my ‘convicted felon’ for 20 years and he’s NEVER laid a hand on me and has LOVED me unconditionally. Y’all act like convicted felons are the only ones committing murder. Women get killed all the time by men with no criminal background. So get the f*ck out of here with these dumb ass judgmental comments!”
What’s sad is Kanisha busted her ass to provide a better life for her children.
She was a CNA.
She earned a business administration degree.
She bought a home.
And she got her license to become a bail bondsman.
Moses, on the other hand, was a career criminal with no goals or ambition.
Ladies, choose better.

I wouldn’t take my daughters to a prison to visit their real father let alone a loser. Women stop being so desperate. To the point of putting your children’s lives in danger. And look up what a king is.
The key word is desperate, but im not calling her desperate. She was tricked by an institutionalized bum, that couldn’t let go of the fairy tale that she created for their while he was in jail. His ego would not allow this strong, beautiful woman move on without his ugly, thirsty, delusional self.

I get so sick of these stories of women so damn desperate to have a man that they risk their kids in the process. It’s ok to be single! Once you have kids it’s not about you anymore, at least until they are over 18 and gone. You have to put their needs and safety over your wants and desires. It’s safer to get a toy and lifetime supply of batteries if you’re that damn horny. No disrespect to all men that have been to jail, there are some good ones and I know some personally that have been wrongfully convicted, but clearly this idiot wasn’t one of them. He had assault with deadly weapon and intent to harm before her, so I guess she missed that red flag. Stop ignoring the signs to continue the fake ass fantasy you’re portraying on social media. I don’t ever trust any couple that is that social media thirsty for attention posting all the time how perfect their love is, if you gotta keep talking about it, probably ain’t true and you’re trying to convince yourself more than your circle. So could’ve been avoided, now 3 babies don’t have their mom.
