KANSAS CITY — 🎵”Workin’ 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin.'”🎵 Country music legend Dolly Parton visited the City of Champions on Tuesday to celebrate the Missouri statewide expansion of her “Imagination Library.” Needless to say, she had a blast. “I was excited because I’m thinking, I’m going to Kansas City,” Dolly told Fox4 News. “And I’ve always loved the song [Kansas City], and I love the state.” Dolly, who starred in the 1980 chauvinistic comedy “9 to 5,” once had the world’s biggest titties. Dude.. I was only 8 years old at the time, but I was droolin’ like a mofo. I wanted her to breastfeed a n*gga. Dolly started the library in honor of her illiterate father, who spent all day working instead of learning how to read and write. “It just seemed to bother him a lot… to cripple him emotionally more than anything because he was a brilliant man,” she recalled.

“And I always wanted to do something for my dad because he’s always done so much for us.”

As for the library? Certain Kansas City families will receive 5 books each month from when kids are fresh out of accouchement to when they turn 5 years old and start school. Dolly believes the library inspires both parents and children. “They’re going to grab somebody in their house, whether it be a brother, sister, and it instills a love for reading and family as well,” she said.

The Inspiration Library was launched 29 years ago, and it has gifted more than 200 million books.

Missouri, which funds the program, is the 14th state to participate.

Kansas committed last year.

Missouri Governor Mike Parson and First Lady Teresa Parson attended the celebration.

Dolly, 78, is definitely seasoned.

But she’s also well-known by this generation.

“I feel like an aunt, like I am the book lady,” she cracked.

“So I am an aunt that might come and visit sometimes. Like, ‘Where’s the book lady? She’s part of our family!’”

Her slogan is, “You can never get enough books into the hands of enough children.”

  1. Nice program except it’s not available to every child. For example, it’s not available to kids in Wisconsin.

  2. The forever gorgeous “Queen of Tennessee” is the epitome of “Love and Kindness” the world will ever know!
