LOS ANGELES — Future NBA hall of famer LeBron James ruffled some feathers Labor Day weekend when he listed his Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks throughout NFL history. King James’ rumination was disseminated in a viral DraftKings social media post. “So my Mount Rushmore of all-time quarterbacks would be Tom Brady, Pat Mahomes, Joe Montana [and] John Elway,” LeBron said before adding, “Nah, sh*t. Wow, that’s not fair. Life’s not fair but… I would do a toss up between Elway and Peyton Manning.” Social media reaction was priceless. One commenter wrote, “As if I needed more reasons to hate LeBron James.” Another chimed in with, “Terry Bradshaw don’t get no love, damn. 😢😢😢” A third viewer added, “Damn LeBron, put some respect on Drew Brees’ name.” What’s my take? The top three are absolute no-brainers.
Brady, the NFL’s all-time passing leader, won 7 Super Bowls (even though he cheated like a mothaf*cka). The Deflategate scoundrel was also crowned Super Bowl MVP 5 times to go along with 3 league MVPs and 15 Pro Bowl selections. Mahomes, 28, has already won 3 Lombardi Trophies 🏆🏆🏆 to go along with 3 Super Bowl MVPs, 2 league MVPs and a sextet of Pro Bowl selections.
An anonymous defensive coordinator said Mahomes is “like Brady when Brady was in his prime.”
And, Montana won 4 Super Bowls to go along with 3 Super Bowl MVPs, 2 league MVPs and 8 Pro Bowl selections.
Where things get tricky is trying to decipher who belongs in the fourth spot?
Should it be Elway, Manning, Johnny Unitas, perhaps?

Lebron’s list is perfectly fine, I personally would go with Manning over Elway, but I do think Elway is actually a bit underrated or at least under-appreciated, so him getting some love on a Mount Rushmore list I’m not mad at, though for me it is definitively Mannjng in that 4th spot.

The thing about Rushmore picks is that it’s not simply the best 4 are your guys. The Rushmore 4 is determined by various amounts of things; how much effect did they have on the game, did they grow the popularity of the game, how iconic were they, etc. considering all of it I don’t think Mahomes can qualify yet. He almost definitely is a lock when he retires but for now I think you have to set him aside. When it’s all said and done I think him and Brady are locks and personally I feel Montana and Unitas should close it out. If we’re talking talent/skill level alone then yeah Manning would be a no brainer. And if we wanna get in really murky water I actually believe Troy Aikman arguably would belong on the talent skill level mount Rushmore. IMO he’s the most underrated QB of all time and it’s not even close.

Mahomes win another Super Bowl. Get his career yards up. He’ll be in this list. I think he can be on this list in Elways place.
LeBron is from Cleveland of course all Browns fans know who Elway is. Elway single handedly stopped the Browns from reaching three superbowls.
