KANSAS CITY — It’s been one helluva holiday season for Chiefs Kingdom. Patrick Mahomes & Co. are playing good football. The movie “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story” is now available on Hallmark. Now we’ve learned pop songstress Taylor Swift spent her day off on Thursday with a bunch of sick kids at Kansas City’s Children’s Mercy Hospital. The 14-time Grammy winner wrapped up her 21-month “Eras Tour” last Sunday in Canada. Now that she has some free time on her hands, Taylor made the surprise visit one day before her 35th birthday — shocking parents and patients alike. The “Paper Rings” singer took selfies with the kids, exchanged Christmas gifts and signed autographs. Just a class act. “She said I made her day,” a 6-year-old girl recalled, referring to Taylor’s visit. Blake, a 12-year-old recently diagnosed with leukemia, saw Taylor and suddenly started talkin’ and moonwalkin.’ That’s significant because he’s introverted and rarely speaks to anybody.
Taylor chortled when Blake showed her his Kansas City Chiefs blanket that reads, “Go Taylor’s Boyfriend.” Taylor is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. They’ve been together for more than a year and share a home in Leawood, Kansas. Tinley, an eighth-grader diagnosed with meningitis and encephalitis, had just woke up from her coma when Taylor arrived. Talk about perfect timing.
“It felt good to be able to talk to her and see her,” Tinley said.
During a chinwag about football, a little girl told Taylor, “I like Travis now,” to which Taylor replied, “Me too.”
Telling you dawg, Children’s Mercy is now satiated with a whole new coterie of Swifties.
“She [didn’t] have to do this,” said parent Phillis Faulkner-Johnson.
“She [didn’t] have to come and give so much of her time. But she did.”
Another parent, Cassie Thomas, added, “She was amazing. So down to earth.”
Taylor celebrated her birthday the very next day on Friday the 13th ☠☠☠.

I’m not a Swift music fan. I couldn’t name one song of hers, but I am a lifelong resident of KC. I know the type of work CMH does for children and am proud they are here in town. When someone who has her cred and status to visit these kids at CMH, I applaud her. I’m still not listening to her music, not my style. 😂
She just finished a tour that lasted almost 2 years and her first order of business is to show up at a children’s hospital to make them smile and give them an amazing memory! Like for real, how can so many people have so much hatred for her? I will be a proud Swiftie until the end of time!
