WASHINGTON — Uh-oh! Ladies and gentlemen, we have a trade war on our hands and it’s gettin’ ugly. President Donald Trump ruffled feathers on Tuesday when he imposed 25 percent tariffs on products ingressing the United States from Canada and Mexico coupled with an additional 10 percent tariff on goods coming from China. He’s also charging a 10 percent tariff on Canadian energy. Damn. Trump ain’t bullsh*ttin.’ Canadian leaders have responded with homogeneous tariffs of their own, and they’re threatening to cut off power to America — leaving millions of us in the dark. “If they want to try to annihilate Ontario, I will do anything, including cutting off their energy, with a smile on my face,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford told reporters. In case you didn’t know, Canada exports enough electricity to power roughly 6 million American homes. Chinese officials are equally pissed, claiming they will fight the trade war to “the bitter end” by raising tariffs on our agricultural and food products.
That means our grocery bill will be a bitch.
Prices will also go up for gasoline, clothes and electronics.
By increasing tariffs, Trump says he’s safeguarding domestic manufacturing jobs while bringing about the cessation of illegal immigration and drug trafficking. He’s also creating métiers for Americans who — thanks to his policies — are no longer eligible for welfare programs like food stamps and Medicaid. Only problem is by generating employment opportunities in the U.S., Trump is eliminating occupations in Canada and Mexico. Immigration Minister Marc Miller said a million jobs in Canada are now in jeopardy.
“We can’t replace an economy that is responsible for 80 percent of our trade overnight and it’s going to hurt,” he explained.
Joel Soleski, who works for a car manufacturing plant in Ontario, said he’s “pretty scared” of being laid off.
“I just bought my first house,” he vented.
“I might have to look for work elsewhere.”
Together, China, Canada and Mexico comprised more than 40 percent of U.S. imports last year.

Bottom line you can’t trust Trump in anything he says, numbers he spews out or deals he signs. It’s a waste of time. Let all sides start the tariff war and let the American people find out he lied to them.
