GARNER — “If I can’t have you, no one can.” Residents of Garner, North Carolina are in mourning after Christopher Pugh, 53, shot and killed his wife, 54-year-old Teresa Adams-Pugh, before blowing his own brains out. The murder-suicide transpired at their residence on March 22, 2025. According to reports, Teresa told Chris she was sick ‘n’ tired of his bullsh*t and she wanted out of the marriage. An argument ensued. Feeling threatened, Teresa called 911 then hung up. When the dispatcher called back, Chris answered and said nobody called. But Teresa could be heard in the background asking for help. Law enforcement officials were dispatched to the scene. When they arrived, they heard a flurry of gunshots. After obtaining a search warrant, deputies entered the home and found Chris and Teresa shot dead. What’s crazy is they appeared to be the perfect couple.
Chris — a convicted felon — and Teresa were successful business owners. They had substantial income. They traveled frequently. They spoke at seminars. And they did podcasts to deliver conjugal advice. There were no signs of domestic violence. Everybody envied their marriage. “Total surprise. He adored her. Whatever [Teresa] wanted, Chris would give it to her,” Marion Shaw, Teresa’s mother, told reporters.
“She was fun-loving and the life of our family party… Chris was a good man. He just did the wrong thing.”
Teresa’s granddaughter, Daniya Adams-Smith, echoed a homogeneous sentiment.
“My paw paw never yelled at us. There’s no way we could have suspected this,” she bemoaned.
“He wasn’t violent at all. You can’t even say you saw him mad. They didn’t fuss in front of us. None of that.”
Social media reaction was wild.
One commenter wrote, “Why is it that couples who put their relationships on social media to show how happy they are, have the worst relationships?”
Another person added, “That’s why you never envy someone’s relationship. You don’t know what type of demons they’re fighting.”
Chris and Teresa were married 20 years.
They’re survived by 4 children and 14 grandchildren.

Based on past events with couples who die (murder-suicide), chances are he was cheating, has been cheating, abusive towards her and she wanted out. He decided to kill her and then himself. Seems to be the end result of a relationship that has gone wrong or end up in a breakup. Which is also the norm for men not being able to except rejection
