ATLANTA — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Maxwell Lartery, 33, was thrown in the slammer after he murdered his sugar mama, 51-year Samantha Bozeman, because she kicked him out the house. The femicide transpired on February 5, 2024 at Samantha’s residence in Atlanta, Georgia. According to reports, Samantha — a mother and grandmother — told Maxwell she was sick and tired of his freeloading ass. So she ordered him to pack his sh*t and leave. Rather than respect her wishes, Maxwell went out to his car, grabbed his gun and fired four shots through the front door — striking Samantha three times. Then he went to Hooters to fabricate an alibi. Ain’t that a bitch? “As this grandmother lay and bleed out in her very home, he was gallivanting all through the town, ending his night at Hooters,” Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis told reporters.
“It’s just a horrible disregard for life.”
Neighbors heard the gunshots and called 911. Officers conducted a welfare check and found Samantha deceased in the kitchen. Fortunately, the shooting was captured on her ring doorbell camera. “There’s another video that I have where he’s saying, if you come outside, I’m gonna shoot you. I’m gonna shoot your house,” said Fulton County Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney Kassie Hall.
Maxwell was arrested and charged with murder.
He’s serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
“People think of domestic violence as just physical. But it can be economic abuse,” said Fulton County Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney Christina Robinson.
“He wasn’t paying bills. He wasn’t being a responsible male.”
Shortly before the shooting, Samantha went to her daughter Zipporah Ferguson’s job in tears.
“She’s like, ‘I’m done with him.’ I’m done with him and everything like that,” Zipporah recalled.
Social media reaction was vicious.
One commenter wrote, “No matter how young or old a black woman is, they love thugs.”
Another chimed in with, “WOMEN: Some of y’all need to stop being so desperate😮. This was uncalled for.”
A third person added, “Don’t date a young n*gga!”
Maxwell and Samantha were together 4 years.
