ATLANTA — When pissing off a co-worker goes tragically wrong. Residents of Newton County, Georgia are in mourning after 19-year-old Akeela Clarke and 21-year-old Khalaf Barksdale got smoked by their Walmart co-worker, 24-year-old Dwayne Eduh. Ryan Bradley, 29, was also shot. But somehow survived. The double murder transpired around 1:30 a.m. on April 11, 2025. While working the graveyard shift, a belligerent Dwayne pulled out a gun and emptied the clip on Khalaf and Ryan. Then he drove to Akeela’s home, kicked in the door, and blew her to smithereens. “He just, like I said, shot through the bedroom door, charged through the bedroom, applied about seven to eight shots and that was it,” said Akeela’s mother, Samantha Clarke, who watched her daughter die. “And he ran down the stairs.” Akeela’s aunt, Nathalia Edwards, said Dwayne had every opportunity to kill Samantha. But, thank God, he spared her life.
“He came in her room and he went for [Akeela] and he walked right past my sister,” Nathalia recounted.
“He didn’t even look in her direction, he didn’t say nothing to her, he didn’t point the gun at her, he didn’t try to hurt her. He came for his target and he got his target unfortunately.”
Moments later, Dwayne fled out of state to South Carolina. Police officers tracked him down. After a lengthy standoff, Dwayne shot himself in a suicide attempt. He survived, but remains hospitalized in critical condition. So, what’s the motive? “We’re not really sure,” Nathalia said. “But what we kind of know is that there was a problem at the job and at the workplace and it just escalated basically.”
Social media reaction was wild.
One commenter wrote, “The problem with these young people is that they DON’T KNOW GOD and they out here living fowl, fighting like savages, they DON’T PRAY and they don’t put GOD FIRST!”
Another chimed in with, “How did he get in the house so easy?”
A third person added, “Incels are dangerous.”

You go to Walmart and their employees have an attitude like they don’t want to be there and you’re bothering them. It’s everywhere you go now. The older employees have a much better disposition and are for the most part nice. Imagine those attitudes behind the scenes and with other coworkers. It’s not a pretty picture. Don’t know what happened in the background to cause this shooter to go off, but I pray the family who lost their child comfort and healing.
