KANSAS CITY — If you’re a Midwestern gamer, yours truly has great news! Executives with Hasbro and Top Trumps released an exciting new board game called “Monopoly Kansas City Edition” that’s satiated with a plethora of renowned landmarks like Arrowhead Stadium, Nelson-Atkins Arts Museum, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Country Club Plaza, Zona Rosa and many others. Kansas City is one of a select few of conurbations with its own Monopoly game and Mayor Quinton Lucas couldn’t be more ecstatic. Top Trumps representatives introduced the game October 26th — unveiling the Monopoly mascot, the board squares and the largest local board ever presented. Mayor Lucas and business owners (featured in the game) were in attendance. “I could not be any more excited,” Mayor Lucas said as he and a confrere rolled a pair of giant dice during the board’s uncovering. “Being able to share the Kansas City spirit — one of success, of ingenuity, perseverance, and this exciting place in the middle of America that really is on an incredible trajectory to become one of the world’s greatest cities.”

So, why Kansas City? “We have truly fallen in love with Kansas City,” said Top Trumps rep Brooke Gorman. “Instantly when we came here, all the locals were easily some of the nicest people we’ve ever met.” Realtors with Engel & Völkers are confident the game will help sell more homes during the holiday season. “We’re thrilled to have Monopoly Kansas City Edition out in time for the holidays and to celebrate one of the most beloved and culturally rich cities in the Midwest,” said Engel & Völkers License Partner Angie Ripley. “As we connect with additional like-minded, professional individuals, we are looking to change the local Kansas City real estate industry.”

“Neighborhood-level knowledge is becoming increasingly important to clients in our market,” Ripley continued.

“We are Kansas City’s go-to resource for finding a professional advisor that has unparalleled local market expertise to help them navigate their own specific real estate journey, with the backing and support of a global network and world renowned brand. We are excited to make our love for Kansas City known for all who play Monopoly Kansas City Edition.”

“Monopoly Kansas City Edition” is available at CVS, Amazon, Pink Antlers, The Learning Tree, The Best of Kansas City and other businesses featured in the game. Better make your purchase now. Telling you dawg, it’ll make one helluva Christmas gift.

  2. Let’s be honest, monopoly is/was more fun when it highlighted the shit parts of town and the good parts. Not all the good things a city has to advertise.

  3. Union station should definitely be on there and Joe’s Kansas City.
