CHICAGO — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. John Matthews, 25, was thrown in the slammer after he murdered his baby mama, 24-year-old Shonta Harris; her mother, 56-year-old Frances Neal; and her sister, 27-year-old Jasmine Neal, because he was ravenous. The triple femicide transpired during a domestic dispute on June 22, 2020 outside John’s home in Chicago, Illinois. Shonta and their 4-month-old son spent the night with him for Father’s Day. According to police reports, John asked Shonta to get off her ass and cook. But she politely said, “no,” because she wasn’t feeling well. Then he told her to braid his hair. But she again declined — citing an illness. So, he cussed her out and thwacked her in the countenance. John’s grandmother quickly intervened and she escorted Shonta out of the home to help defuse the situation.

Rather than cool off, John followed ’em outside and continued to act a damn fool.

Shonta eventually called Frances and Jasmine to come pick her up. When they arrived, Frances descried Shonta’s black eye and asked John to explain what the f*ck happened. He told her Shonta “didn’t do sh*t for him and that he hated her.” Then he told everybody to get the f*ck off his property. Shonta was certainly eager to egress, but John wouldn’t let her take their son.

So Jasmine called 911 to report John assaulted her sister and was refusing to hand over their child.

That’s when John pulled out a handgun from his waistband and opened fire — striking Frances multiple times in the torso.

Then he shot Shonta in the chest before shooting Jasmine in the head as she tried to run away.

Frances and Jasmine were pronounced dead at the scene.

Shonta was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center where she received treatment.

She had bullet fragments in her chest, and fractures to her ribs and spine that left her paralyzed from the waist down.

She was all f*cked up.

Shonta died in a nursing home on September 5th.

John was busted in Iowa on August 3rd after he was involved in a car crash.

At first, he gave police officers a fake moniker.

But he eventually came clean.

John was extradited back to Chicago, where he was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

Social media reaction was fierce.

One commenter wrote, “If he WASN’T a good father EVERYDAY, why take your baby to spend time with him on a made-up holiday?” 

Another person added, “Hard to feel sorry for these women when they continue to pick bums like him.”

RIP TO THESE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN who lost their lives to a musty dusty smh I would NOT try and force a relationship with my kids and their fathers, if they don’t want to be a parent their lost fr️

  17. Also, be careful about breaking up with deadbeat boyfriends or husbands. Sometimes it safer to cause them to breakup with you. Tell them you lost your job. Write up some fake eviction papers and tell him you’re about to get evicted. They’ll leave with a quickness if they think your resources are dried up. Ask me how I know.

This sounds shallow,but- women have to stop covering for their dangerous unstable male family members! He had no remorse and obviously no self control. I bet his entire family knew he was violent and wicked. Once a woman is mentally incapable of fighting back – an abusive or narcissistic man,wins. Some of us get out, before the narcissist turns into an abuser or a murderer. Abusive culture was a main issue in this case. My condolences and prayers are with all the living family members.

  22. my baby daddy used to beat my ass to get the child support back from me… tried to kill me on numerous occasions. and told me he will kill him self afterwards. that was a decade ago i’m still praising God i got out l. he’s still doing the same to his new wife

  25. People must know when to walk away to fight another day. Young people just leave. Return with the police to get the child or your things. NEVER have your family come to an angry person’s home.

  29. This is why young ladies needs to be prayerful when choosing a partner in life… better to be single than going for what will damage our souls.
