LOS ANGELES — When keepin’ it real goes feloniously wrong. Chicago rapper Lil Durk (né Durk Devontay Banks) was thrown in the slammer after he remunerated a quintet of his retinue to kill rival artist Quando Rondo, resulting in the quietus of Rondo’s cousin — Saviay’a Tilal Robinson. The murder-for-hire transpired on August 19, 2022 in broad daylight in West Hollywood. According to court docs, Durk paid five members of his rap group “Only the Family” $100,000 to smoke Rondo (né Tyquian Terrel Bowman). The contact killers are: Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston. Durk also offered ’em “lucrative music opportunities” to give Rondo a dirt nap. The associates went to Los Angeles and opened fire on a Cadillac Escalade that contained Rondo, his sister and Robinson. Rondo and his sister escaped the shooting unscathed. But Robinson was shot multiple times and died.
Then, to add insult to death, Durk incorporated the media’s coverage of Robinson’s demise into a song, which prosecutors argued was intended to “commercialize” the homicide. Durk was apprehended on October 24, 2024 in Miami, Florida as he was preparing to board a private jet to Italy. The 32-year-old lyricist was held without bond before being extradited to L.A. where he will remain in police custody because he’s definitely a flight risk. Durk had already booked three international flights in advance.
The 2-time Grammy winner is charged with conspiracy, using interstate facilities for murder-for-hire, and firearm possession in connection with a crime of violence.
He’s facing a mandatory life sentence.
The hitmen were arrested in Chicago just hours before Durk got busted.
We should’ve seen this coming.
If you recall, Durk & Co. faced charges last month in connection with a conspiracy to avenge the 2020 murder of fellow Chicago rapper King Von (né Dayvon Bennett).
Social media reaction was fierce.
One commenter wrote, “Durk should’ve been locked up a long time ago. He did so much dirty sh*t, especially when he was running with King Von. That video of him at the bus stop where the guy got killed was disgusting and so are a bunch of his other videos. He was a Chicago demon that made it out… but them hell-hounds are coming for him and he deserves it.”
Another person added, “That n*gga Durk couldn’t leave that gangster bullsh*t alone, especially as a man in his thirties with eight kids! Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!🤷🏽♂️”

Upstart rap artist L’A Capone (né Leonard Anderson) was murdered in cold blood in 2013.
His homeboy, rapper RondoNumbaNine (né Clint Massey), is serving a 39-year sentence for the 2014 murder of 28-year-old Javan Boyd.
Durk has 7 kids.
His fiancée, India Royale, also has a daughter.

This is Also How we become Spirit Led.
