KANSAS CITY — Haters are gonna hate. After months of squeaking out single-digit victories, our repeat Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are being mocked in a “Gridiron Heights” cartoon that shows ’em gettin’ sued by their opponents. The prosecuting team is led by Baltimore Ravens signal-caller Lamar “Action” Jackson and Las Vegas Raiders defensive lineman Maxx Crosby. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce are represented by defense counsel Cris Collinsworth of NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.” The jury is comprised of NFL referees, all of whom are in favor of the Chiefs. And NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is presiding as judge. The case is called “The People v. The Kansas City Chiefs.” Jackson started the trial by calling Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert to the stand to testify. “Game was ours, bruh. But it doinked in,” Herbert recounted while fighting back tears. “I doink understand it.”
Raiders QB Aidan O’Donnell gave a homogeneous testimony. “We were in field goal range. The game was ours to win,” he bemoaned. “It was my fault. I fumbled the snap!” After Collinsworth cross-examined Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely, Jackson called Satan to the stand as a surprise witness. “Now, Mr. The Devil. Did you or did you not make a deal with the Chiefs?” Jackson asked.
“I ain’t never seen these guys in my life,” Lucifer replied as a blatant act of perjury.
But, as he was being dismissed, Satan whispered to Kelce, saying, “Thanks for the Eras tickets, Travis. My daughter loved it.”
It should be noted, the devil’s tail and pitchfork were accessorized with Arrowhead emblems.
Mahomes waved off Collinsworth to deliver the closing argument.
“I’ll take it from here, Cris,” Mahomes said.
“Folks, think back not so long ago. Remember when I was fun? Is it possible you hate us because you ain’t us?”
Jackson jumped out of his seat and yelled, “OBJECTION!” to which Mahomes retorted, “YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE CHIEFS!”
Seconds later, Judge Goodell revealed the verdict.
“The jury finds the Chiefs GUILTY!” he told the court.
But, after a referee handed him a replay sheet, Goodell changed his mind.
“After further review, that call is overturned. Chiefs win!” he said.
Coach Reid, Mahomes, Kelce and the referees stood up and celebrated.
“And with a high ankle sprain,” said an elated Collinsworth.
“That’s what makes Patrick Mahomes, Patrick Mahomes.”
